The training continued this weekend as we wanted to get another couple of days of 40miles through our legs.
On Saturday we headed down to Brighton on the train to stay with friends. The plan was then to head back to London, staying the night with other friends from university in Tonbridge. The weather (despite the worrying forecasts and stormy nights) was cracking and we cycled in glorious sunshine both days.
See our route below – going the opposite direction from the traditional London to Brighton meant that we got to swoop down from Devils Dyke having taken the longer but shallower climb up from the south. On Monday when we cycled through London (via Greenwich to say hi to Verity’s mum!) it was amazing to see how much the canals (particularly around Stratford) had changed and how trendy (and busy) the area had become.
